Year 2015

We will be working on adding the new block of vineyards (Block D) which will be a planting of Chardonnay (Dijon Chardonnay clone 95) that will be situated between the Ag Building and the residence; and we will also plant this same Chardonnay clone on the front fence line of the property. We will add two new watering zones (Zone 5 & 6) to our irrigation system; Zone 5 will be used for the front fence line for the Chardonnay plantings and Zone 6 will be used for the northern boundary of the property for a planting of olive trees (about 75 trees that we will used for olive oil). On the construction front, we will finally start the Ag Building construction. It’s been a very long process with Sonoma County but we have the permit in hand and I have been working with the subcontractors to get the final budget set. We will continue to improve the pond area habitat and I have been working with a subcontractor to improve the water quality for our aquatic guests. It will once again be a busy year for the J2 Family.

Year 2014

We completed the infrastructure of the vineyard including the irrigation system, finished the trellis system installing the vertical line posts (VLPs) and the training stakes, and planted the vines (Dijon Pinot Noir clones 115 and 667) .  We also worked with our neighbor to the south along with PG&E on installing electrical service to our respective properties for our new Ag buildings and residences.  Once fall came, we again planted cover crop in the rows and installed erosion control items to ensure our soil stays put.  It was a busy year for J2 family in 2014, but a rewarding one seeing the vineyard finally planted.  Big thanks to the Robledo family for helping us out on the vineyard planting; and kudos to Tim and the guys at Wyatt Irrigation Supply for their great support.

Year 2013

The J2 Estate Vineyard development started at the end of August 2013 as planned.  We prepared the land for the plantings with organic material and supplements.   The vineyard layout was completed and all end posts were installed in the main vineyard blocks (Blocks A & B). We were also able to construct the Well Pump House and put a small storage building on the property.  We installed the fence posts and strung 520 feet of wire fencing along the county road (front of the property); and installed the ranch gates to secure the property.  We also completed the encroachment for the new driveway to the Ag Building and Residence.  We felt like a lot was accomplished in a short span of time, but as you can see from the photos we still have much to do.  Thanks to our suppliers Dave, John, Cory, Mike, and Mike Sr.; and special thanks to Dianne and Jeff for all the hard work and sacrifice (Jeff put his career on hold for us to provide his skills, capabilities, and brain-power to the project.  We could have not done it without him).
